Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a handful of things that will save you some trouble and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Gresham and the last thing you want is to discover is that you need AC repair. Going through this short checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often forgotten as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
- Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it operating at optimal efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to arrange your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 503-663-8033.
